Welcome

Welcome to the writing life, things that inspire & musings about books—sometimes mine, sometimes those of the stars of young adult & children’s literature.

Take a look at:

What Was on My . . .

Everything from what was on my nightstand to dream-guest list to catalog of fears. And always–always!–I talk about books & writing & what fascinates and inspires me.

And be sure not to miss:

What Was on Her . . . and What Was on His . . .

The same sort of zazzy thing, personalized and designed by writers, illustrators, editors, and book bloggers who adore young adult and children’s literature.

Guests have included: book blogger & author Lenore Appelhans, two-time National Book Award Finalist Kathi Appelt, nonfiction powerhouse Elizabeth Partridge, international bestseller Amy Plum, multitalented author and editor Jill Santopolo, and the incredible illustrators Gabi Swiatkowska & LeUyen Pham.

In December 2013, I featured the first What Was on His . . . with author Tim Wynne-Jones, a Boston Globe-Horn Book Winner & an Officer of The Order of Canada. Think: Sir Tim. Following on his heels was young adult author and bridge designer Varian Johnson, the in-the-news-everywhere Trent Reedy, National Book Award Winner William Alexander, and the critically-acclaimed author Matt de la Peña.

More will be coming each month.

Read on . . . and enjoy.
